We have done extensive computer simulated flow testing and the trend seems to be that incoming air likes surface area. This is our attempt at gaining surface area without going up in size. The ridged inlet add almost 60% more surface area then a standard plan radius. This part is drilled for all of the air vents on the carb rather then undercut like the “other guys” that causes tuning issues. Maintains a low profile with friction grooves cut into the side for the air filter to be clamped to. If you choose to run an air filter, any 3” filter should work. These will come standard on our big bore command carbs.
